#RecipeClippings |
I hadn't intended to create a new blog event, it all came about through an instagram post about my recipe clippings which seemed to strike a chord with some others. I was going to keep it to instagram but, after thinking about it, I realised that it would be hard to keep track only through instagram and there would be a real chance that the whole thing would just fade away.
There are a number of ways you can join in and cook up the recipes from your #RecipeClippings
Make a recipe from a magazine/newspaper clipping or note:
- post a photograph and the recipe, or a link to a recipe, on your blog and add to the InLinkz linky at the bottom of this post. Link to Farmersgirl Kitchen in your blog post and include the #RecipeClippings logo
- post a photograph and description on Instagram tagging FarmersgirlCook and using #RecipeClippings
- post a photograph and description on Twitter tagging @FarmersgirlCook and using #RecipeClippings
- like and post a photograph and description on Farmersgirl Kitchen Facebook page using #RecipeClippings
YOU ONLY NEED TO DO ONE OF THESE, BUT YOU CAN DO MORE IF YOU WISH
Rules:
- You may post recipes you have clipped from magazines, newspapers or have written down from friends and family. Please credit the author of the recipe or ask permission.
- Please say where the recipe came from.
- Three entries per month.
- I will re-share any posts and/or photos that are tagged
- Recipes must be added to the linky by the 28th of each month.
Go get those #RecipeClippings and make the recipes
you liked the look of so much, you cut them out!

Oooo brilliant idea. My blogging has slowed down recently due to final year uni work but I will definitely keep your challenge in mind because I will guiltily and gladly admit to having loads of recipe clippings!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura, don't let me distract you from your final year studies, please! However, you do have to eat, so maybe you will manage to make something from your recipe clippings.
DeleteThis is such a great challenge Janice. I have a whole book of recipes which my mum has handed down to me which she hand wrote when i was growing up. I have been meaning to cook from them for ages and this is a perfect opportunity and will make my mum v happy! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Deon, what a lovely idea to use your mum's recipes, it must have been a labour of love writing down all those recipes for you. I look forward to seeing what you make.
DeleteGreat idea and as I have a couple of files full of recipe clippings, I'm sure I'll be joining in!
ReplyDeleteI think we all do, Karen. Will be lovely to have you join in.
DeleteThis sounds great Janice. I have old internet printouts in a drawer as I don't get magazines much anymore. Would these do?
ReplyDeleteYes, of course Lucy, they are the modern equivalent of clippings!
DeleteVery good idea Janice. I have so many clippings and notes and ..... - mostly in an over stuffed file, but in lots of other places too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, this is your chance to get them out and see what you want to make.
DeleteThis is a great idea Janice. I've got loads of recipes, including some faves from school domestic science! GG
ReplyDeleteooh domestic science recipes should be interesting!
DeleteSuch a great idea! Now I need to decide which clipping to make first! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, look forward to seeing what you come up with.
DeleteI had a good rifle through my boxfiles yesterday - have thrown a lot out that I saved back when I was a much less experienced cook, but I've also found a few I'm really keen to try asap :-)
ReplyDeleteExcellent, thanks for the encouragement to start this linky, it's all your fault lol!
DeleteSuch a great idea for a challenge Janice, I cut & paste (old school style!) recipe clippings into hard backed A4 books and I love rifling through them for inspiration. When I get 5 mins I'll grab one and see what jumps out at me :)
ReplyDeleteJanie x
Glad you like the idea, Janie. Old school sounds good to me, I still cut out a few myself!
DeleteWhat a brilliant idea for a linky! I had loads of them at my Mums house :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sylvia, it seems to be quite a popular idea, look forward to seeing what you make.
DeleteGood idea - it might just encourage me to try to sort out the chaos of my notebooks and folders.
ReplyDeleteYes, do sort them out and get cooking, Phil!
DeleteNice idea Janice - will try and think about some of my recipe clippings that need making and link up
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing what you make Nazima
