However, I do have two tickets to the showing of Julie and Julia to giveaway. And in keeping with the foodie theme, Sophie Grey, founder of the artisan bakery company Crazy Baker and author of 'Lets make Whoopies' will be judging a pie bake-off. So you can take along your pie and if you win you will receive a year's membership to the Lexi Cinema and a copy of Sophie's book. I'll be making some whoopies and be back with a review of the book soon.
Nora Ephron, who died this year, was one of the greats of the comedy world. When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail … her best films became cultural moments, with characters, scenes and lines that live far beyond the films themselves.
As part of our focus on women in comedy the LoCo Comedy film festival are teaming up with the beautiful Lexi Cinema at Kensal Rise, London, for a special tribute to her, The Ephrathon, on Sunday 27th January. They are showing three of her best-loved films, one from each era of her career: Heartburn (starring Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson), Sleepless in Seattle and her award-winning final film Julie and Julia, which stars Streep alongside Amy Adams and Stanley Tucci.
If you would like to win two tickets to see Julie & Julia at the Lexi Cinema at Kensal Rise, London on Sunday 27th January, please leave a comment telling me which Nora Ephron film is your favourite and why. Entering the pie bake-off is optional!
The winner will be chosen by random number generator and the competition will close at 12 noon on Sunday 20th January. The winner's name will be added to a guest list and they will be able to collect their tickets on the day, at least 15 mins prior to the start.
And the winner is Caroline, congratulations!
